In 1989 John L. Knight began Energy Insurance & Bonds to write energy insurance exclusively.  Since then, he and his son, John M. Knight, have built strong relations with the best sources of energy insurance.  This good relationship guarantees that our customers receive excellent coverage at very competitive prices.

John M. (Marc) Knight is a retired United States Army active duty officer and former Battalion Commander. He is a licensed insurance agent and holds a masters degree in Organizational Leadership.  Marc has been with the brokerage since 2003 and became president in 2006.

John L. holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter designation, which is held by only 2% of insurance professionals. John has been both a company underwriter and an insurance broker.

Energy Insurance now insures more small hydroelectric power plant owners than anyone else in the U.S. Our book of hydro clients numbers well over 100; representing nearly 140 plants. The plants are located from Maine to California.

We often partner with local insurance agents to provide insurance products that are not normally availabel to local agents. We currently work with 11 high quality insurance agencies in eight states.
